Promotion of IT Applications in the Travel & Tourism Industry in Armenia

Country and region: Armenia, Central Asia and the Middle East Region

Project date: 5/15/2009

Client: USAID, CAPS

WHL Consulting was contracted by the USAID funded CAPS program to lend expertise on Information Technology and its application to the tourism sector. This project was the first time WHL Consulting has worked in Eastern Europe or Central Asia. Zachary Rozga spent 16 days in Armenia and met with a number of firms from both tourism and IT sectors, academics and government officials. The capstone of the project was the hosting of a summit on April 14th for the two sectors to interact. The event was well received and generated quite a large amount of local press.

If you are able to read Armenian you can see the coverage here and here. If not there is a short write-up about the project on the whl.travel blog.
