Market Readiness Assessment in Champasak, LaosCountry and region: Laos, Southeast Asia and the Pacific RegionProject date: 9/20/2007 Client: IFC MPDF Undertook a destination level Market Readiness Assessment at the request of the Mekong Project Development Facility (MPDF) with the intention of investigating the possibility of further support to develop a WHL portal specific for the Southern Laos region. Included in the destination assessment was a property specific readiness assessment, a training needs assesment, an attraction inventory and a product development recommendation for the cluster of licensed properties. In order to do this, the MRA form was refined for the Laos situation and worked with the WHL local partner, Teamworkz Consulting how to conduct the MRA and together visited, interviewed and assessed over 40 licensed accommodation providers in Champasak, Laos.
